Confidence in this moment.

You are where you are right now at this moment in time.  You are there for a purpose, a reason and only a season -think of it as an assignment.  You must make this assignment meaningful and positive in order for it to turn out in your favor.  You can act now and get the results you want.  You can make a difference and have an influence.

Allow yourself to let go of the past and all the mistakes you’ve made.  For those are mistakes of the past that have led you to where you are at this moment in time.  This moment in time is powerful.  Have confidence in this moment and create the life you want to live.  Enjoy living while acting with confidence in this moment.  Who knows where it may lead you.

Don’t Let Anyone Talk You Out of Your Dreams.

Don’t Let Anyone Talk You Out of Your Dreams

Growing up as a child many of us believe in Santa Claus, the Easter bunny, the Tooth Fairy and list the goes on and on. We believe in them with a child like faith that soon diminishes as we grow up. Our minds are filled with disappointment when we find out Santa Claus and the Easter bunny are imaginative creatures and all child like faith gets thrown out the window. But why? Why do we let go of this child like faith!? Child like faith makes you feel alive, complete and whole. It gives us all a sense of hope and gives us permission to imagine and believe in the impossible.

People will constantly try to belittle your dreams and make you feel as if your dreams are impossible. They’ll tell you that your dreams are ridiculous, you’re crazy and it can’t be done! People will laugh at you and try to talk you out of pursuing anything worthwhile. Remember this: one day it will all be over and you will give an account for your life – not their life.  Whatever is in your heart to do, do it! Don’t let people talk you out of your dreams!

Stay focused on what you know in your heart and I promise, you will not fail.  Give yourself permission to have daily child-like faith.

Something for Someone.

Make it a point today to do something for the most important person in your life – yourself !

Putting yourself first does not equate to being selfish.  It doesn’t mean ignore others.  When you take good care of yourself first, automatically you are able to offer more meaning and value to the others in your life.

Acting in a negative way towards yourself with your thoughts and actions is no benefit to anyone.  When you allow personal development and growth in life, the ability to give comes naturally.

Be happy.  Be kind.  Be generous towards yourself and others.  When you are good to yourself it overflows with abundance into the people around you and creates a positive impact.

There’s no better feeling of satisfaction and accomplishment in this world than knowing you made a positive impact in someone’s life.

What are you still reading this for?  Go help someone and make a difference…but first – do something amazing for yourself!

What Is Your Vision ?

Where do you see yourself in three years?  What about ten?  If you are not able to answer these two questions with a clear and definite answer, then you need to establish a path and vision for yourself.

I like so many of you, was at a point where I was living life day to day with no real direction.  I lived in fear of my vision.  When you live in fear of your vision, you are not being true or fair to your authentic self.

Set your expectations, standards , and goals high.  Never settle and when you reach your established goals, continue to set higher goals followed by higher, higher goals. Realize you really are capable of whatever it is you envision, but in order to achieve your wildest, most crazy goals you need to BELIEVE in yourself AND LOVE yourself FIRST.

When you believe and love yourself, negative words and noise from other people won’t knock you down.  Instead, it will make you feel nothing but sadness and compassion towards those who never had the boldness and courage to pursue their vision.

Listen. If you CAN IMAGINE IT then consider it in your mind for a REASON.  This seed has been planted in you for a purpose.  Pursue this seed, and it will be the most rewarding and victorious journey of your life.

Do YOU dream big ?

Dream bigGER.

Set a goal to achieve something that is so big and exhilarating that it excites and scares you.  It must be a goal so appealing and in line with your spiritual core, that you can’t get it out of your mind.  If you do not get chills when you set a goal, you’re not setting big enough goals.  Do you set big enough goals? If not, it’s time for you to start dreaming bigGER.

Motto to live by:

GO the extra mile. Live above the norm. Treat people with kindess and respect regardless of what they deserve. Give generously of yourself beyond what is expected.  Strive for excellence and find joy in the process.  Take control of your own destiny by a conscious act of giving extra time, energy, and resources as a gift; not because we have to, but because we choose to.

Authentically You.

There’s something peaceful and magical about being in tune with who you are.  In a word, authentic.

When you start living life based on your own desires and emotions, life immediately becomes liberating.  Life is essentially supposed to be lived freely (afterall, this is America) but too often people get trapped and tangled up with distractions. Eventually, the distractions and expectations from others is so consuming and intoxicating, one beings to forget who they are.  The distractions and living up to the expectations of others becomes the norm.

At this point all sense of self is lost and the disconnection from self goes unnoticed.  Views, thoughts, and actions change to be in accordance with a best friend, parent, relative, or significant other.  Words are chosen carefully in order to prevent someone from thinking you are “weird.”  It’s sad and unfortunate to see people so disconnected from who they really are; they don’t even recognize it.

I wish the whole world could understand the concept of being authentically you.  It’s a wonderful feeling to be authentic because no one can take it away from you, no one else can be exactly like you!  How cool is that ?!

Authentically you is the ability to have the courage to be in tune with your OWN emotions, thoughts, and actions AND sticking firm to those emotions, thoughts, and actions even when it goes against the grain of someone else.

If you struggle in life with “figuring it out”, finding your chosen path, or knowing who you really are; I highly suggest seeking professional counseling.  Therapists are not professionals who are only for people with mental illnesses.  They are there to listen and help you discover your authentic self.  A therapist can sort through the disconnect and help connect the dots so you can live a life of abdundance being authentically you.

Reach Your Goals With These Helpers.

Hurdle #1: “I don’t have enough time to exercise.”

Helpers:

*Take your gym bag to work and exercise during lunch. Having your gear with you will also make it easier to go straight to the gym after work.

*Exercise in smaller intervals of time. Three 15-minute “mini workouts” spread throughout the day can be just as effective as one 45-minute session. Try to fit in a mini workout first thing in the morning, during breaks, at lunch, and after dinner.

*Do your workout first thing in the morning.  You are less likely to be distracted by other daily tasks.

*Find ways to squeeze extra activity into your normal routine. Take the stairs instead of the elevator, stretch at work, or ride the stationary bike while watching TV. Do crunches and other strength exercises during commercial breaks.

*Instead of meeting your friends for lunch this weekend, meet them for a leisurely walk or nature hike.

*Spend time with your family and friends doing fun activities. Instead of going to dinner and a movie try miniature golf, riding bikes, playing at a park, ice skating,  or playing in the snow.

Hurdle #2: “I’m discouraged since I don’t see immediate results.”

Helpers:

*Set challenging, yet attainable, short-term and long-term goals.

*Track activity on a daily basis (what you ate, your activity level), but measure results (weigh-in, inches lost) every week or two in order to accurately observe progress.

*Use more than just weight loss to measure success. For instance, look for positive changes in your energy, stress, endurance, strength, blood pressure and cholesterol levels. All of these will improve when you implement healthier habits.

*Set rewards for meeting daily, weekly and monthly goals. Whether it’s a massage, video rental, or a vacation, pick something that is meaningful (and financially affordable) to you.

Hurdle #3: “I’m experiencing ‘burnout’ on my current program.”

Helpers:

*Change your routine! Workout in the morning or midday instead of the evening. If you usually exercise outdoors, bring it inside and try a new piece of cardio equipment.  Changing the order of your exercises can fight boredom.

*Set simple goals at first—ones that may even seem easy like walking for 5 minutes. Gradually build up by adding more difficult goals. Increase activity (time, distance) and intensity (speed, resistance, incline) as you gain success and momentum.

*Find a fitness buddy who has similar goals; make regular appointments to exercise together. A buddy can also be comforting when you’re afraid to try something new like join a gym or take that Yoga/pilates class.

*Do things you enjoy! Exercise doesn’t have to be a “work” out. Play soccer, basketball or another game instead of just jogging or riding the stationary bike. Learn karate or tae kwon do. Take a ballroom dance class with your partner.

Change Negative Energy into Positive Energy!

No change of circumstances can repair a defect of character. – Ralph Waldo Emerson

We all know people who like to complain. It seems no matter how good they have it, they are always spreading negative energy. Even the best, most painstaking listener can have trouble with someone who finds fault with everything around them. You can shine even in the worst situations if your character is strong. If you’re starting to see the “dark side” too often and find yourself blaming your circumstances on other people, take another look. If you think a change of scenery will solve all your problems, think again. Change can be good. Moving on to new things can be an exciting chance to stretch yourself and break a rut. But it’s important to start with yourself when you’re finding things to improve. No matter where you live, work or play, the only constant is you. You can’t escape yourself. Change on the outside will have no effect on your happiness or fulfillment unless you change on the inside, too.
